Similarly as a year ago one of our basic dishes was escargot (Helix pomatia) stew.Phot. Basia Ciechanowska.

We also ate various fried wild 'roots' e.g. Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) and marsh woundwort (Stachys palustris). Phot. Basia Ciechanowska.

A few people made a shleter. Phot. Basia Ciechanowska.

For breakfast we fried nettle (Urtica dioica) leaf fritters.Phot. Basia Ciechanowska.

On the first day of workshops we were visited by Rafał Łoziński from Wrocław - the leading Polish specialist in fire making. He showed us the fire drill and the bow drill technique.

Basket making workshops run by Andrzej Wrzecionko from Iwla near Dukla.

After the workshops it tuned ou that some people had learned how to make woven shoes.

And these are most valuable wild spring vegetables which can be found in roadsides of my village.

Lots of free time...

Sarah tried to initiate body painting workshops... in vain. Fot. Basia Ciechanowska

My daughter loved hawthorn leaves (Crataegus monogyna).

We tried the earth oven (Maori oven) technique, using chickens (but from a shop).

We ate them for breakfast, they were getting reading over night.

Sweatlodge frame. As there were many sweatlodge enthusiasts we made it twice. Phot. Basia Ciechanowska.

It is the tradition of my workshops to plant a circle of woodland plants in young secondary forest. They will spread and help to regenerate nature and for years constitute a living painting. This time we planted Carpathian toothwort's rhizomes (Dentaria glandulosa).
